Share Your Story

Do you have a story of generosity to share?

IS THIS WHAT YOU IMAGINED?

It’s interesting just how much your imagination can dictate how you live, act and function…and it can also be dangerous because you can build whatever you want.

Looking at your life right now: is it what you imagined?

Just like God pulled Abram from his tent in Genesis 15 to look at the stars, God wants to pull YOU out of your tent, and out of your reality, so that you can see more than what you’re in – more than the depression; more than the dysfunctional relationship; more than the singleness; more than financial strains; more than the addiction.

This is because: IMAGINATION moves you to place of POSSIBILITY, which is the birthplace of FAITH, turning things into a REALITY.

What are the things you imagine for your life? What are your dreams? What to do you see for your family? What about love? What are the things you see?

Vision is important because what you see is where you’ll be.

Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)

“Now Faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality – faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].”

What are you imagining? What are you building in your mind that is shaping your heart and your core?

We’re called to be people that don’t just see something AS IT IS, but AS IT CAN BE.

That’s why we want to imagine what our Elevation Young Adult community can be like in the future.

1. IMAGINE…AN OPEN FAMILY WHERE ‘EVERYONE’ IS ACCEPTED

Imagine a place where anyone can feel CONNECTED, and where no one comes to church feeling unseen and unheard; a place where someone’s past, present, social status, or appearance had no effect on their acceptance; a place where people can BELONG before they BELIEVE.

Mark 12:30-31

30 “’And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

We want to create an open family without judgement, that doesn’t claim to be perfect – because only perfection can cast judgement, which is God and not us. We want to encourage our Young Adults to think of other people before they think of comfort – like making sure that no one is sitting or standing alone, or inviting someone out to dinner with their group of friends. If we could grab hold of this vision, we could see hundreds of people from all walks of life, being embraced into an OPEN FAMILY.

2. IMAGINE…A YOUNG ADULT COMMUNITY PASSIONATE ABOUT LIVING OUT THE GOSPEL

Imagine original and authentic Young Adults who portray Jesus in everything they do, and are more than just conscious of people’s eternities but are desperate to seal people’s destinies with God.

Imagine an outward focused community, where people are a light into everywhere they go, holding a reputation of giving grace, mercy, and kindness – a reputation like Jesus had of being friends with sinners and friends with EVERYONE.

3. IMAGINE…YOUNG ADULTS WHO ARE ALL ABOUT BUILDING THE HOUSE SO PEOPLE CAN FIND HOME

Imagine Young Adults who are GENEROUS with all areas of their lives – people who recognise that Jesus didn’t come to be served but to serve, all so that people would discover him and know his infinite love.

Imagine Young Adults who GENEROUSLY give their time – like serving on a Sunday. It’s not serving an organisation, it’s serving people so that we can create an atmosphere where they can come into relationship with Christ.

Imagine hundreds of young adults serving in the Worship Team, Door Greeting Team, Salvation Team, Car Park Team, and as YA Life group Leaders with a passionate mindset that they are helping in building the house so that people can find home.

4. IMAGINE…A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO WERE ACTIVELY IMPACTING SOCIETY

Imagine a group influential people who are leaders in their world! We’re called to be the salt and light of this world, to make a change and BE that change.

Imagine our Young Adults:

– Causing an impact in the business sphere – a group of young entrepreneurs who pursue dreams and shatter preconceptions.

– Shaping the direction of the arts world with music, dance and imagery that stands apart from the usual.

– Setting a new norm in the sports world.

– Creating change in the media through film and design.

– Influencing policies and speaking for people through politics.

Imagine people who step out into new places, new heights, and in the unknown – where fear and faith collide. Imagine that this is our community.
